Movies River should have done (39): Things I never told you
McCarthy is superb there: I loved the man since the 80s, but this was the movie where I really fell in love with him.
But… this is a perfect example of movie&role that I think would have been perfect for Rio: small/indie one, not typical love story but adorable one, great edition&screenplay, and Lili there.Riv&Lili have that amazing chemistry so I think of him every time I see her anywhere.
And all that phones thing: second imaginary role for him after (or before) Palahniuk’s “Survivor” (now tender instead destroyer one, hehe).
But yeah, Andrew&Lili also have an amazing chemistry so I’m happy McCarthy was there.

Hey You,I was going to answer your question (kind of) in yesterday’s email about what comedies people would have liked to see River in, but I ran out of steam doing the pics - I’ve been unusually exhausted lately, not like me. (Hope you don’t feel obliged to do something with them; I didn’t hear back from you so just to say I hope you don’t feel awkward about it or anything, I wouldn’t want that!)

Anyway, not at all a straight-up comedy - more romantic dramedy so it probably doesn’t even apply - but I’ve always sort of fantasized what Riv would have been like in Ethan Hawke’s role of Troy in Reality Bites with Winona Ryder.
