Happy 42! - Stand by me (1986)
We all would have loved having a friend like your Chris Chambers, the friendship he has with Gordie and them all. Brave, encouraging and always there. And a lot of us also want to BE like Chris with our friends. You and your character inspire us, so thanks for that :)
1) I have “a thing” with old/second hand books. I know some day I’ll marry a cook, a bartender or a librarian.
2) I need to re-read it before the next rewatch (yes, I don’t know if you’ll ever do a 3rd Rio movies round, but sure we’ll do a SBM so…). I don’t remember anything (ah, my head) so hey!
Another think about it ;-)
- From ROE: gorgeus blonde guy, new in town, lying about his past, brilliant at class, seduces young girls in the forest, running away from the police.
- From Cat People: the incest thing (Danny just dances with his mother, Charles goes a little bit further) and the kitten thing (although hey, Riv also count as feline thing).
I think King put both on the cocktail shaker and… xD
“Distance” (degrees of separation) between Trent and River (vol. 5)
Of course: The King is the key for the distance 2. Phoenix worked in “Stand by me” (“The body” adaptation, he was Chris Chambers) and Stephen admires and still loving the boy. And there’s that mutual fanboy thing with Reznor: not so strong as Palahniuk’s one, but there it is, it’s said “The becoming” is inspired on “Tommyknockers” (idea and title, I read that only God knows where) and he references “Hurt” in “The Dark Tower”.
There are King quotes about both out there.
I hate myself now. No dessert for me in a month.
Literature beats drugs (4), cinema (3) and music (3), although the Navarro kiss-connection is still the sexiest ;-)
TITLES (2): STAND BY ME
My Corel broke so many times doing these ones I just couldn’t stop laughing! xD
(1,1) Title + Columbia (and Ben E. King song, “Kings” movie!)
(2,1) Wheaton (he was* other of my childhood crushes)
(2,2) Phoenix (my first, my last… always [/snape-mode])
(3,1) Feldman (he IS the 80s)
(3,2) O’Connell (the “ugly duckling” turned into prince)
(4,1) Reiner (amazing “artisan”)
(4,2) Sutherland (one of the best villains ever)
(4,3) King (one of my top writers)
As in Explorers post, these are the things that make me love this movie :)
* I still, errr… loving you, Wil. So be careful, stay away from me… the (geek) things I could do to you, man, you have no idea… RJ-45 involved xD
